Mission Statement:
The mission of the Working Waterfront Maritime Museum is to educate the public, preserve and showcase the history of Tacoma's working waterfront and to demonstrate and teach the maritime crafts and skills.

Vision Statement:
- Reconnect our community to its waterfront by      preserving and enhancing
-public access to our inner harbor waterway for educational and recreational use.
- Preserve the Balfour Dock building, built in 1900 along Tacoma's primary
  deep-water dock and moorage site.
- Serve as an essential community education resource - Demonstrate a successful citizen and local government effort to
-reinvigorate the northwest shore of Tacoma's inner harbor.
