Our Mission
The mission of the Wood River Community Y is to build strong kids, strong families and a strong community through programs that develop the whole person in spirit, mind and body.
Youth Development
We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Through our Y, thousands of neighborhood youth are developing values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
A gift to the Y will make a difference to the kids in your community. You can help change the direction of a child’s life by helping them to learn to swim, go to camp for the first time, or master their ABCs through our after-school Kids Club program. Your support today will give kids the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive so that they can become the healthy, happy adults of tomorrow.
Healthy Living
The Y is at the forefront of addressing some of the greatest health concerns affecting our society today. From childhood obesity to diabetes prevention to supporting cancer survivors, the Y is helping thousands of people of all ages living in communities in and around the Wood River Valley, live healthier and happier lives.
Social Responsibility
Whether commuting to or from the Y with the Mountain Rides transportation system or volunteering at the Y, we are making the community stronger by giving adults and families the opportunities they need to learn, grow and thrive.
We foster relationships and collaborate with partners to ensure that all people get the care and respect they deserve. Our staff, volunteers, community partners and donors like you empower more everybody to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
At the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to an inability to pay full fees. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy confident, connected and secure. We can only make that promise through the support of our donors to the Y.
