About Us:
The Wells College campus is home to a meticulously-maintained 9-hole golf facility, including a clubhouse with a snack bar and grill, a large outside deck and a pro shop with the latest equipment. The course has a par of 36 with a total of 3,162 yards. The course rating is 69.4 while the slope rating is 117.
In 1923, on area farmland, a six-hole golf course was installed atop the Wells College campus. Edward Hayton became the first groundskeeper and PGA professional in 1938. In the 1960s, renowned golf architect Robert Trent Jones (husband of Wells alumna Ione Davis Jones ‘31) redesigned several of the holes.
The course is open to the public from dawn until dusk, from early March through early November and offers both club and cart rentals. The snack bar within the Pro Shop offers snacks, a grill, beer and other refreshments
