The Tampa Bay History Center is a dynamic learning resource that inspires a sense of place and pride for diverse audiences of all ages through interactive educational programs and engaging exhibitions.
A Smithsonian Institution Affiliate, the History Center includes three floors of permanent and temporary exhibition space focusing on 12,000 years of Florida history. The History Center features a museum store, the Witt Research Center, a map gallery, event hall, and the Columbia Café, a branch of the historic Columbia Restaurant. One of Tampa’s premier cultural venues, the History Center features cutting-edge interactive exhibits and provides a unique educational experience for all ages. Located along the Riverwalk in Tampa’s bustling Channel District, the History Center serves residents of the Tampa Bay area as well as Hillsborough County’s nearly 3 million annual tourists, and is one of several cultural venues located in downtown Tampa. The Tampa Bay History Center was awarded a Silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2012.
