History:

In the summer of 2013, the Simpson Family started the project to open Simpson Funeral Museum. The location of the museum is the original site of the first funeral home in Chatham, Virginia, in the late 1800’s.

Having been in the funeral service business for 52 years as a licensed funeral director, embalmer and owner of Mastercraft Casket Company, it has always been a passion of Bill Simpson’s to open a funeral museum. After many years of planning and preparation for the opening of the funeral museum, Mr. Simpson has realized his dream. The Simpson Funeral Museum serves as a historical resource to provide the public a with learning experience on the history of funeral service.
