Museum of the Marine

Mission:

Our mission is to memorialize the contribution of the Carolina Marines in defense of this nation, and to explore the unique relationships between our Marines and the Carolina communities so closely tied to them.

To accomplish this, we will build a national class museum and research center. High-tech hands-on multimedia experiences, first-person reminiscences, recreated environments, and displays of original and reproduction materials and equipment will dramatically combine to convey the stories of the Marines in the Carolinas. Our state of the art research center will make archival and artifact collections accessible for study and reference.

In short, when people hear "Marine," they'll think of "the Carolinas" and our museum.
