Memphis State Recreation Area consists of 163 peaceful acres of land with a 48-acre lake. The area offers primitive camping, fishing, hiking and non-powered boating.

The recently renovated lake has been stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish.
Boating
Memphis State Recreation area is a no-wake lake. The speed limit is 5 mph and under. One boat ramp is available.
Hiking
The area offers a scenic one-mile hiking trail.
Picnicking
Memphis is a popular day use spot, and has two day use areas with two picnic shelters each. Numerous picnic tables and grills are available to accommodate summer picnics and family get-togethers.
Camping
Primitive camping
A large campground with dozens of mature shade trees wraps around the lake’s north shore, and plenty of campsites are scattered along the water’s edge. The area offers 100 non-pad sites without electricity. Water, vault toilets, a spacious playground and a dump station are available to campers.
