Lake Maloney is just six miles south of North Platte is a great getaway spot for outdoor-lovers. Lake Maloney is popular for boating, fishing, water sports, camping and family fun. The 1,000 acre lake provides lake-goers the chance to watch wildlife, fish for a variety of species, or wakeboard.
Lake Maloney has nice, shady spots for camping, grilling and picnicking.

Fishing
Lake Maloney comprises 1,600 water acres. Anglers will find bluegill, common carp, channel catfish, crappie, flathead catfish, freshwater drum, smallmouth bass, walleye, white bass and white perch. There is daily bag limit of 10 channel catfish. A wheelchair-accessible deck is located at the inlet.
Boating
All types of boats are permitted at the lake. You’ll see fishing boats, sail boats, paddle boats and personal water craft.
Swimming
Two unsupervised swimming beaches are available for fun in the sun.
Picnicking
There are plenty of opportunities for picnics with 136 picnic tables and 122 grill available throughout the park.
Camping
RV camping
Lake Maloney SRA has 56 pads with 50-amp hookups for lake-side camping. Coin-operated showers, dump stations, water, two boat ramps and vault toilets are on-site. Camping is first-come, first-served.
Primitive camping
200 non-pad sites are available with no electricity.
