About Kahala Mall

Set in the shadow of Diamond Head, just minutes from Waikiki, Kahala Mall is a regional shopping center with 414,000 square feet of Gross Leasable Area, conveniently located amidst luxury oceanfront properties in the iconic Kahala neighborhood.  The Center is easily accessed from the H-1 freeway and has multi-level parking structures and over 2,100 free parking spaces and public bus stops around the perimeter. A landmark trolley stop welcomes visitors from around the world including the infamous Kahala Hotel & Resort.

Kahala Office Building and Kahala Office Tower stand adjacent to Kahala Mall, housing 40 tenants comprised primarily of Honolulu’s Best  doctors, dentists and real estate services.

The history of the property dates back to the late 50’s, when it was known as Waialae Shopping Center, anchored by a grocery store, drugstore and the Liberty House department store – which Macy’s acquired in the 80’s. In 1970, the property transformed into Kahala Mall, the first enclosed, air-conditioned shopping center in Hawaii.

Serving Hawaii for over 50 years, Kahala Mall is renown in Hawaii as the heart of the East Oahu community.
