Since 1949 when the Columbia Basin Project began, the Jones Family started growing and packing potatoes in Winchester, Washington. From this, the venture has grown into the production of many different farm crops.

Reaping and suffering has brought much knowledge of the land in this extreme business. In 1997, the first Jones Vineyards were planted on the Wahluke slope. In 2001, an interest in wine along with some un-contracted grapes propelled Jack into getting a winery license and selling the grapes as wine himself.

This led to the beginning of Jack Jones Winery and the Jones of Washington brands. Jack Jones started planting wine grapes on the Wahluke Slope in 1997 and is the owner while Greg Jones (his son) oversees the operation.
