Our Mission

Our mission is to transform young lives and help underserved girls grow in confidence, leadership, and academic achievement. Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH) is a pioneering nonprofit organization founded in 1997 that provides opportunity, education, and empowerment for girls in underserved New York City communities. Using the artistic discipline of figure skating as a powerful magnet, we provide girls with innovative education and fitness programs that promote academic success, physical health, and emotional well-being. As a result, our students experience physical, emotional, and intellectual growth in a safe and supportive environment.

Our Vision

Our vision is to empower every young girl with the skills and foundation to achieve her dreams. She will be a powerful speaker, an effective leader, live a healthy lifestyle, and be a global citizen. We aim to bring the benefits of our model program to even more children by creating extension programs in other underserved communities.
