Chase Stone Barn Park

The Stone Barn was built in 1903 and is on the State & National Register of Historic Places because it is one of the last surviving all-fieldstone barns in the country.

The Town of Chase purchased the barn in 2007 so they could protect it and make it into a historic park.  

Once the restorations are complete, the barn will be a venue for public and private events.  It will also have a rustic museum that will showcase the lifestyles of the early settlers in this area.  It will also educate people about the geology of Wisconsin.

The town needs to raise $287,000 by June 30, 2012, in order to get a grant for $143,000 from the Jeffris Family Foundation in Janesville, WI.  If they fail to raise the funds by this date, then the grant will be rescinded.

Once the park is completed, the National Trust for Historic Preservation would like the Stone Barn to be a model for other barn preservation projects throughout Wisconsin and beyond.

The Town of Chase has proudly taken on the responsibility of restoring the barn and protecting it for future generations, but they need help to get the barn breathing once more.
