Located Just minutes outside of Fayetteville and Oak Hill off Salem Gatewood Road in the heart of whitewater rafting, Bridge Haven Golf club is the perfect one-day golf getaway. Built as a nine-hole course in 1992 and upgraded to 18 holes in 1996, Bridge Haven is the perfect challenge for any golfer from the serious handicapper, to the average golfer, to even the beginner will quickly learn to appreciate and love this intriguing public course.

The first nine holes of the sprawling course have very few obstacles -- save a sand trap and a lake or two -- leaving the well-groomed Bluegrass striped fairways ripe for the average golfer's tee-shot. While the front nine is an open more forgiving set of holes, the back nine at Bridge Haven offers challenges even the most serious golfer will appreciate, like the part 3 No. 10 with its sloped green or the long part 5 No. 11.

If strength will conquer the front nine, strategy is the key to a good round on the back. Long part 5s and par 4s with some of the finest outdoor scenery in Southern West Virginia used as a backdrop reward the patient golfer and offer a breathtaking view of the entire course and the surrounding area.

Bridge Haven is punctuated by its par 3 No. 14 signature hole. The 150-yard shot from an elevated tee box overlooks a deep blue pond inlaid with a cascading fountain. Beyond the pond lies the luscious green protected by a tall locust tree off to its left. A good shot will drop the ball onto the soft and inviting green. An errant shot will place yet another ball into the waiting pond or one of two sand traps guarding the hole. Of course, the perfect shot will find the ball at the bottom of the cup.

Bridge Have has always prided itself on its greens, boasting some of the best in the state. The Bent grass greens are the pride and joy of the course and are treated as such. The smooth rolling greens are kept in immaculate condition by the professional grounds keeping staff making the golfer's putting experience at Bridge Haven an exciting one.
