Our Story

Our brewery started in 2010 west of Port Angeles behind Harbinger Winery where we sold our beer in their tasting room. On brew days, you could hear Tom brewing to the tunes of Pearl Jam, Bob Marley, The Grateful Dead, Led Zepplin, and so on. Tom’s California beer-drinking youth provided him with a strong affinity for the pioneers of micro-brewing, back when Sierra Nevada, Pete’s Wicked, and Mendocino Brewing were small craft brewers.

In December of 2012 we moved the brewery and opened our own taproom on the Port Angeles waterfront, at our Railroad Avenue location. In November 2015 we brought on Josh Blue (formerly of Hop Crew) as Head Brewer, and in December of 2015 we added the artisanal pizza restaurant. The fusion of high quality, small batch, craft brews, hand-made, artisanal pizza and warm friendly hospitality has made Barhop an extension of our home. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
