The Arboretum at Penn State Behrend conserves and promotes the legacy of the campus' unique natural botanical resources through:

    * advancement of related education, outreach, research, and conservation efforts;
    * documentation and enhancement of the campus' botanical diversity;
    * maintenance of the campus' inspirational woodland setting.

The Arboretum at Penn State Behrend will be recognized as an important education, outreach, research, and conservation resource.

We believe that an enhanced natural setting promotes an effective learning environment and that the college community has a responsibility for stewardship of the Behrend family's gift to the University, which includes extraordinary botanical resources.
