The Alaska Legislature convenes for 121 days from January to May each year. Each Legislature has a two-year session in which legislators, caucuses, and committees remain consistent, and bills carry over from one year to the next. The Alaska Legislature, however, must pass a budget every year.

Each year, AARP Alaska prioritizes three to five policies or funding requests to put our advocacy muscle behind. Our 2025 priorities will be published here in February.
