Get Fraud Prevention Tips at Oklahoma City Event
Learn how to protect yourself against online criminals at a free AARP fraud prevention seminar in Oklahoma City on Friday, July 28.
AARP Oklahoma is teaming up with state and federal organizations, as well as local law enforcement, for the event. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Metro Technology Center at 1900 Springlake Drive. Participants will learn about the latest scams, how to be more online savvy and how to keep personal information safe on smartphones, tablets and computers. A free lunch will be provided.

Cybercrime increased substantially across the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, victims in Oklahoma lost $66.5 million to cybercriminals, according to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center. That’s up 133 percent from the $28.6 million reported in 2019.
