If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month this May, AARP has some opportunities to consider.

There are a variety of virtual events that you can access from the comfort of home, ranging from a May 3 discussion of mental health in immigrant communities to a May 17 conversation about how a coloring book of Asian American pioneers can help spark conversations.

You can take multiple exercise classes in Tai Chi and Qigong throughout the month or join in cooking classes that expose you to delicious Thai, Korean, Indian, Chinese dishes and more.

And there are in-person experiences that you can enjoy whether you’re in Hawaii, where you can get discount tickets to a concert featuring Streetlight Cadence, or in Sacramento, where the OCA Dragon Boat Festival takes place May 23, or in Houston, where you can take a tour of the Asia Society Texas Center’s exhibition: Xu Bing: World Alchemy.

AARP encourages you to celebrate this month with connection, compassion, and care. Check out the AARP AAPI web site or Facebook community to learn more about how you can join in the festivities.
