Age Friendly Laramie Seeks Director or Co-Director

The Age-Friendly Laramie Program is seeking applications for a volunteer Director or Co-Director. To read more about Age-Friendly Communities, click here.

As part of the Age Friendly Program, this Director or Co-Director position will have overall strategic and operation responsibility for Age Friendly Laramie’s programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. They will initially develop a knowledge of the program as it has been and develop a plan for the future of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Ensure the finishing of projects sponsored by grant funds from AARP.
  • Actively engage and maintain relationships with members, volunteers, committees, partnering organizations, and funders. 
  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong collaborative group, seek, and build group involvement.
  • Ensure effective systems for tracking progress and grant funding. 

Fundraising & Communications

  • Help in expansion of local revenue to support programs.
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications with the community about Age Friendly Laramie. 
  • Build and maintain a relationship with AARP and their constituents.

Planning & New Business

  • Be a local presence that communicates programs with an emphasis on making Laramie into a community friendly for all ages. 
  • Build a plan for the future of the organization.

Qualifications:
The Director/Co-Director will be committed to Age Friendly Laramie’s mission of ensuring that Laramie is safe and highly livable for people of all ages and abilities. The right candidate will be interested in making sure that Laramie is a great place to grow and age. They will also be organized, communicative, and like building connections in the community. No formal education or experience is required.

Time Commitment:
We understand that this is a volunteer position, so the expectations and hopes for this position would be alternating strategy meetings and work sessions, in addition to some outside work with AARP and in the community. Likely resulting in about 4 to 5 hours per week, about 15 to 20 hours per month. In the event of two Co-Directors, these commitments would be split accordingly.
