2024 Election Candidate Forums on Aging in Colorado
Coloradans have a special opportunity to hear directly from state legislature candidates this September and October.
AARP Colorado is partnering with eight organizations to host virtual forums with candidates in Western Colorado, Denver Metro East, Southern Colorado, Northern Colorado, and Denver Metro West.
“These five virtual events give us the chance to ask potential state legislators how they plan to address the challenges our friends and neighbors are facing,” Karen Moldovan, AARP Colorado director of advocacy, said. “It’s important to remind office seekers that older Coloradans are concerned about issues like caregiving and financial security– and they vote.”
Registration is available through Action Network. Attendees will be provided Zoom log-in instructions via email upon registration.
Additionally, the Partnership for Age-Friendly Communities is hosting, in person, a Larimer County Candidate Forum for state legislature and County Commissioner candidates October 10.
“Every election cycle, voters 50+ make up the majority of people who go to the polls,” Moldovan said. “They want to see candidates for office address their day-to-day challenges like caring for their loved ones.”
