About the Event
The Skunk and Goat Tavern is proud to continue the tradition of the Miller Mistletoe Mile!
This one-mile run/walk race around downtown North East is the perfect way to spread holiday cheer and enjoy an evening of family fun & community in our picture-perfect downtown.
As always, the race intends to lift up the community, and proceeds are donated to help in some way.
This year, all proceeds from the race will go to a new project taken on by 4NINE at College Pond (located on the former Mercyhurst College Campus). For years, the volunteers of 4NINE have been frugal in any way they could. They saved and invested money in anticipation of a significant gift to the town. A gift that everyone could share on equal terms, a place where people could feel a sense of community. A place of beauty, peace, and relaxation that will stand as a tribute to the power of ordinary people, a force for good, for caring, for all the things a small town should be about. 4NINE will lead a collaborative effort to develop a park, wooded trails, open grassy areas, and some restoration of the College Pond.
4NINE Volunteers, the Mellon Heritage Foundation, and several donors will spearhead this effort.
