Who says you can’t do two things at once? Help fight prescription drug misuse AND stay one step ahead of identity thieves at same time. Join us on October 26 for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and an AARP Ohio shred event. Register to attend this free dual event brought to you by Columbus Public Health and AARP Ohio. The first 100 shred registrants will receive a free giveaway bag! (Please note: You only need to register for the event if you have items to shred.) 

Med Drop Off

Unused or unwanted medicines can harm families, the community, and the environment.  Bring unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription and over-the-counter pills to Columbus Public Health. Law enforcement officers will safely dispose of your medicine.   Please no liquids, gel caps, aerosols, inhalers or thermometers.   Put all needles or syringes in a puncture-resistant container to keep staff safe.

Shred Drop Off

At the same event and in the same line, AARP Ohio will shred your sensitive documents. When you register, select your time frame. When you show up at your chosen time, the shredding vendor staff will remove items to shred from your back seat or trunk. You won't even have to leave your car!

Once items are placed in the shredder, your box or bag will immediately be returned to you. 

This is a paper shredding event only. No CDs, flash drives or other technology are permitted. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips, rubber bands or binder clips.

Shredding is for community members only. Businesses are not able to obtain bulk shredding at this event.

Please register early as space is limited. Those who arrive without a reservation can register on-site and participate as time and space allow.
