A respected musicologist once referred to the Beatles as “one of the most transforming entities of 20th-century music,” and claimed that they changed the course of popular music forever. Can that possibly be true? And what made the lovable mop tops such a strong force that their music is still popular now, more than 60 years later?
In the first class of this series (and sequel to an earlier Beatles webinar), award-winning musician Barry Wiesenfeld will explore those questions. He’ll discuss the backgrounds and contributions of the Fab Four, why they’re considered pioneers and their influence on later musicians and composers.
Wiesenfeld will also demonstrate the importance music can have on keeping your brain healthy.
